Here's what I think. Gut feeling looking at this photo carefully and browsing quickly through your portfolio again. You are very good at conveying attitude. I'm not sure what the "flare" refers to in your title, but I'd say you have it. A flare for making unique photos. My guess is you're expressing a lot of your own personality even when the subjects are not you. What strikes me here is the play of darkness and brightness and the very evocative shadows, messier than most would attempt. They work with the hair, with the sunglasses, and with the mystifying expression.
