blago 0 Posted May 31, 2002 I doubt that in 10 years there will be a single bird to "pose" you for such a photo. So hurry up, Michael :-) I like very much your urban-nature landscape. Blago Link to comment
squirrelman 0 Posted May 31, 2002 Blago, as a good Catholic I must confess that the bird was actually calling to another bird nearby, probably trying to mate. I don't think it was really that much aware of the plane -- that's just my human spin. Plane/bird shots like these are not as hard as they look. We get a plane coming over every 30 - 60 seconds during parts of the day, so there are plenty of chances because we have thousands of birds around. I actually caught this one almost by accident. I saw the bird first, and then realized that it was right in line with the glide pattern and spotted a plane approaching. I then quickly located myself at the right angle to get the two in line. Believe it or not, about 2 minutes later I got almost the same shot with another American Airlines 727 that passed over, only the bird was looking to the right this time. Link to comment
matthew_kerr 0 Posted June 4, 2002 When I saw the thumbnail photo I thought the bird was sitting on a helicopter. That would be cool... I like this shot though. Link to comment
johncrosley 1 Posted December 27, 2004 You go to the portfolio of Los Angeles-based photographer Doug Hawks (or go to my highest-rated photos of others section on my bio page) and see a photo by him of a street sign and jet passing overhead. Very similar concept and both quite amusing. I think you'll find this image there too. Regards, John (Crosley) Link to comment
