I like how the mom and child are interacting. Black background works great. Nice tight composition. Wonder if slightly darker shirts for mom and child would have been a better choice? Currently, I feel that the bright white color of the shirts grabs your attention away from the facial expressions. Still great work!

Thanks for taking the time to comment. I really prefer doing parent/child portraits when they are not posed and looking directly at me. I think the mother's expression of pure joy makes this photo work along with James' great smile. - Emily
