pduffy1 1 Posted May 29, 2007 Used the lights from the tree as light source. Comments appreciated, ratings requested. Thanks ! Link to comment
jan_piller 0 Posted May 29, 2007 Why is it the last year? That's so sad. Teach her to believe every year - every day and every moment! This is a beautiful photo! It will last for generations - that's the true test of a good photo! Link to comment

dave_dube 10 Posted June 5, 2007 Paul, great story you've presented along with the outstanding lighting. One thing I would like to see improved is the perspective. A quick fix might be to just blur the background so it doesn't compete with your foreground. Link to comment
kasey wilson 0 Posted June 21, 2007 This is beautiful! I have to congratulate you an your lighting. I tried to get some shots of the kids using only the christmas lights, and, well, let's just say that didn't turn out well. Have any tips you'd care to share? Thanks! :D KW Link to comment
pduffy1 1 Posted June 23, 2007 Thanks for all the great suggestions! As far as tricks, all you need is to use a good tripod for extended exposures. This one was 1/4 second. I discovered the ability to use the Christmas tree as a light source several years ago using a film camera. Like most things, digital equipment gives you the ability to experiment real-time. Thanks again. Link to comment
