First I thought they were real bubbles, I would like to see that picture.. though this is interesting for a unique portrait, just wish they were real bubbles.

While the bubbles (sadly) aren't real, they are certainly excellent -- I would love to find out how it was done. Would you care to offer any hints to the less experienced among us?

I don't like it. I don't like it not because its been digitally edited (though I don't think this particular image is appropriate for a photography site), but because its been digitally edited *badly*.

 

The reflections in the bubbles are very poor fakes. The most obviouse example is the bubble behind the head, somehow relecting the front of the head.

Excellent effect! I do not believe that the digital work is badly done because digital work does not have to reflect reality. The nature of special effects is that it allows us to imagine things which the camera cannot capture directly. We don't condemn literature that deals with the impossible. Let's not damn images that diverge from the limits of optical possibility. I too would like to know how this was done.
