Hi, I am new to taking photos of people but quite like this one

Cool! I like the expression on the face and the way the face stands out. Like your portfolio and the car pics. Good job!

To be honest I find the model at an uninteresting age for the surroundings. A clean shaven, well fed, unstressed male does not make for the most fascinating subject. i say all that because unless this is a glamor shot (I don't believe that was your intent) then there must be some possibility of turmoil. He however appears more as someone who has not seen war, or strife. More context might help.

 

 

P.S. The photo is otherwise good. The nature of the model is not all-together within the photographer's control.

Andrew i can see what you mean and thankyou for your veiws and advice. I can see where your coming from and realise he doesnt quite suit the theme but i liked his facial features so thought i would give it a go. As people are new to me (personally find them quite a challenge) its always good to get other peoples veiws on what im trying.

I agree with Andrew but all that said this is a perfect aspect / viewpoint to shoot from and the low key illumination really brings the face / neck to the fore. I'd bet this photograph will age with the subject well.
