henderson 0 Posted May 28, 2007 This is my first serious bee shot. I hope you enjoy it. Thank you for taking the time to critique or rate it. Please visit my small but growing portfolio as well! (www.photo.net/photos/Henderson) Best Wishes, Scott Link to comment
JRX94 0 Posted May 30, 2007 For your first bee shot you didn't choose the easiest way : taking it in flight. I think you did it well and I see several good points in your pic : the bee is well focused ; you've placed it on a hot point ; light is good (and this is very good, those white flowers are sooo easy to burn out). Less good point ? (hey, i have to find one !) Well, the bee could be a little closer. It's possible to do if you try to "ambush" it, focusing above a flower very close and waiting for the insect to land. Regards, Link to comment
henderson 0 Posted June 2, 2007 Thanks for the critique, Jay! I especially appreciate someone who truly critiques, and give suggestions, instead of the usual "great shot, nice tones". The bee was actually quite a bit smaller in the original shot... this is about a 2/3 frame crop. I'll have to see if I can get closer next time, and close down the aperture to minimize the risk of him being off focus. Cheers, Scott. Link to comment
