sonneland 0 Posted May 25, 2007 hi there, I have looked at this flower for quite some time. It has no real strong features as a image. It does have a drawing quality that I really like. So would have to say well done!! Link to comment
jgalyon 0 Posted May 25, 2007 i agree to an extent with the prior comment. really no strong point of focus. however i like the interplay of the grasses in the foreground w/ the flower, and the blur in the background. at first i wanted to totally dismiss it..now a little uncertain. not to be insulting...but if i had to guess i'd say that the positive portion of the effect you achieved was mostly luck. would be curious as to your reponse. that's what we're here for ...to talk these things out, not just say "congrats, good capture, nice shot, & best regards. but...best regards! john Link to comment
acronico 0 Posted May 25, 2007 Hi John,Comments of any kind are always welcome.Just before taking this shot I was wondering around the top of Table Mountain. It was about noon and the light was pretty awfull for almost anything. When I saw this lonelly flower - 10 m away behind a do-not-cross-string - I immediatly saw the effect of the grass and the play of the DOF. I put on my 85mm f1.9 and had a go trying to use the banded dark and light tones at the back, using a large enough apperture so that the background and the immediate forground would stay blured. I also included a bit of deep blue from the sky but in post-process I decided that the photo was too long so i kept it out. Thanks for your input,A. Link to comment
