3 Whitetails

I photographed these deer near my home in diminishing light. In fact, I had to push E100VS to 400 in order to get a workable shutter speed, as I was handholding my IS lens. A color shift occurred within the film, much to my delight.

Handholding an IS lens, I had to push E100VS to 400 in order to gain

enough shutter speed to photograph these deer near my home, within the

city of Milwaukee. I know there was a bit of color-shifting going on

concerning the push, but I THINK I got something interesting out of

the situation..... Yes or No?

It looks to me like a photo with saturation dialed up way too high. (I understand that isn't the cause) The increased contrast from the two stop push detracts in my opinion. Have you tried Provia 100, it pushes much better than this, or better yet Provia 400f not pushed?

Jay, Jay, Jay. There's an ice cold pint of microbrew of your choice waiting right here for you if you can find me ONE deer hunter who smokes crack or shoots heroin. Inappropriate word picture you painted there, bud. Those losers you speak of are way too mired in their own self pity to give a hoot about the natural world.

I might either lighten or at least increase the local contrast on the deers' backs, to separate them from the dark background better. It took me a moment to realize that the smallest head belonged to the body with tail in the right foreground. Still, the expressions are good, and the colors (funky gray foreground, flaming background complementing basic deer brown) really make it for me.
