i like this very much, especially the composition of the leg. but it's so digitally altered that i cannot rate it nor critique it as a photograph. that does not detract from its quality, though.

I like what you have done with this image. The subject itself is not particularly great, but the colours and effects you have used have transformed it into a really interesting picture

I met a photographer last weekend who digitally alters his prints, layering various textures. I have mostly done hand painting rather than digital manipulations but I thought I would try it out with some photos that were not particularly compelling to me on their own. This photo was not painted in photoshop. Rather it a fake "double-exposure". I scanned the BW photo (uncropped)and scanned a painting I had which was a sort of yellow abstract painting. I basically merged the two, and adjusted the levels and color corrected. So i don't know how to answer if it's a painting or a picture, b/c it is literally composed of both.

Hather, Creating great image is what it's all about. What it's called (a photo or a painting) has no effect on the final image. You do wonderfull creative work that results in great images. Thats what matters. Let "them" call it what they want. Inspiring work!!!!
