pjt28 0 Posted May 19, 2007 Every pitch from this 10 year old started with his cheeks puffed out, then the "mean" look, followed by this expression of putting everything he had into a pitch. Link to comment
jlarson6130 0 Posted May 19, 2007 What a great capture, the expression on his face is priceless. Very good color, focus and DOF. Link to comment
corkman 0 Posted May 19, 2007 What a great shot pj. I was a pitcher in my youth and can feel the body tension that goes into throwing that hard fast one. The capture just before the release is perfect timing. I'd be interested to know where you were because you managed to position the camera low which is what makes this shot work so well creating a perfect catcher's eye point of view. Link to comment
pjt28 0 Posted May 19, 2007 Thanks everyone. It seemed like everywhere I went there was some obstruction or I picked up all the people in the bleachers. Even wide open I couldn't get good DOF so I went behind the backstop and shot through the fence. I did the same getting shots of the batters and it worked out much better that I expected. I got on my knees to get more on their level and used my 80-200mm lens. At that level I made a new buddy and a potential photographer, a two year old that wanted to see the camera everytime I took a shot. Bill, I went to Seaford today to get some practice. I'll keep an eye out for you tomorrow. Link to comment
