michaeldaggett 4 Posted May 14, 2007 This is the first time I shot in RAW format and tried some post processing in Photoshop. Thoughts? What did I do right, wrong? What could I have done better? Link to comment
markboyer 0 Posted May 14, 2007 It's quite a nice shot considering the extremes of light and shadow. The bright areas are really bright without being washed out. I'd like a little more contrast, but that might indeed wash out the bright areas. I might play around a bit with Curves to see about getting some more contrast. She is adorable, by the way, and her expression is great. Ultimately that's what matters. Link to comment
michaeldaggett 4 Posted May 14, 2007 Thanks Mark, I am going to give that a shot, It is hard to remember what I've done and haven't done to a photo to try to make it better, and this one, I hadn't toched the curves. I will try it. Thanks for the help! I think she is going to be my model for the next 10 years or so.. ;) Link to comment
markboyer 0 Posted May 14, 2007 Looks good. I'm far from an expert. And I certainly understand what you mean by not remembering what you've done. I think the most frequently used PS command in my aresenal is Undo. Lucky you to have such a great model for all the years ahead. Link to comment
mikeburke 0 Posted May 14, 2007 Mike, its an adorable shot. however I have found that the motteling you get from shade trees is never good for a photo. In general the shadows are ugly and distracting. Use a scrim or butterfly to remove the unwanted shadow and broaden the light. no PS needed=) Link to comment
michaeldaggett 4 Posted May 14, 2007 Thanks Mike, I dont own either, and during the shot, I actually thought the shadows looked intersting on her face, so I took it. I do see how they are distracting, I've googled scrim and butterfly thanks for the tip. Link to comment
