richygale 0 Posted May 13, 2007 so unusual to have the perfect hole in the mist, a super capture, very well done. Link to comment
marcadamus 1 Posted May 13, 2007 I agree. That ridge had been coming and going for about half an hour in the twilight. One 90 second exposure captured the summit alone, as the other hills at right were mostly shrouded in the clouds. One of those times I just kept firing off frame after frame only to get one exactly right. Link to comment
distantvoice 0 Posted May 14, 2007 Although we usually feast our eyes on your perfect colour images the monochrome photos make your body of work truly exceptional. This composition could be studied for hours, technique is simply excellent but for me the most important is that you have seen and managed to show us something behind - a kind of universal message that lets us meditate about the forces of nature and our own place on earth. Are we like these isolated rocks that were mountains a long time ago? Link to comment
snapshot1 0 Posted May 23, 2007 While I agree the window in clouds is captured perfectly, the rest of the composition is weak. The surrounding landscape should make the mountain top pop - not rely on it to make the photo. Link to comment
marcadamus 1 Posted May 23, 2007 The name of the photograph is "Isolation". The rest of the composition is supposed to be minimalist, as to not overpower the tiny detail in the distance. Link to comment
kahkityoong 0 Posted May 23, 2007 Interesting to see other views on this photo. "Isolation" is one of my favourites from your Canadian portfolio. Link to comment
snapshot1 0 Posted May 24, 2007 Marc,I understand Isolation is key but the composition could be more interesting even if bleak. Horizon is too 50 50 if the mountain peak is centered also. I would love to see a slightly different angle and crop. Link to comment
ymages 0 Posted November 28, 2007 50/50 is a way to stop action and works very well here, this photo is peacefull without strong contrast Link to comment
