michaeldaggett 4 Posted May 12, 2007 Sadly, I've been that close to a landing aircraft as well, I was in no mindset to snap a photo! Great capture! Link to comment
lizweisiger 0 Posted May 12, 2007 I totally appreciate what you went through to get this. It is amazing that you got it so close and clear. Link to comment
zisman 1 Posted May 12, 2007 Great picture. Forgive my stupidity, but what is this thing with "KNIGHTHAWKS" on it? Thanks lot and, again, great job! Link to comment

alex_kew 0 Posted May 13, 2007 Great capture, to be in that place at that time. Although it's not a good portrait of a Hornet, it's a good close-up but it lacks clarity in the detail. Hope you don't mind, but I used Levels and Clarify in PSP to bring out some detail. Cheers, Alex Link to comment
gnashings 5 Posted May 15, 2007 The thing with KNIGHTHAWKS on it would be a "gas tank" if it contained gas...If it did, I speculate a violent and spectacular explosion would be likely to follow soon:) It is, however, an auxiliary FUEL tank. As to the shot, well - its not an award winning portrait of a Hornet, or a particularily good close up due to the lack of sharpness - BUT, it IS a picture that you will always remember taking, it will always take you back to that moment, and in the hearts of all the aviation nuts who see it will always cause a pang of envy because I am sure we would all like to have been standing where you were and have a shot like this of our own. And in my humble opinion, that is far more important than all the technical details. But that's just one guy's opinion. Link to comment
