kahkityoong 0 Posted May 7, 2007 This is a shoot 2 weeks after my recent version with eddies in the foreground. Some heavy rain during the week has transformed the entire scene and makes a interesting comparison. Turned out to be one of the most awkward shots I have taken with the low angle, squatting in the middle of those cascades & trying to keep the spray & rain off the lens. But as often is the case, I think it was worth it. Specifications : Canon 5D, 16-35mm 2.8L, polarizing filter, ISO 100, f22, shutter 30 seconds, Gitzo tripod. Link to comment
berenos 0 Posted May 7, 2007 Wow. The low angle really gives you the feeling that you're IN the picture. Well exposed and framed. Inspiring. Link to comment

mario2 0 Posted May 7, 2007 For my taste, the frame and it compo works very well, the space over the fall is suficient to close the image, the lower viewpoint be the image attractive and easthetic, and this kind of timming always works well... in conclusion it is a clasic forest image, but I like a lot and it is a fantastic image...nothing more!Best regards Link to comment

cfreemanphotography 0 Posted May 8, 2007 I really like the perspective and the contrast in the vegetation, but I wouldn't mind seeing a bit more room in the top lef area of the picture. It seems slightly abrupt in its termination. Link to comment
marcadamus 1 Posted May 8, 2007 Great shot! Man, this is really a nice one Kah-Kit. That perspective is perfect! Now post it on a real landscape photo site like NPN ;-) One of my favorites of your work. Link to comment
kahkityoong 0 Posted May 9, 2007 Thank you all for your comments & ratings. I am slightly surprised as rainforests & waterfalls seem to be a less popular genre. Marc, I will post this on NPN shortly. I am currently using photo.net which has a very large audience to display work I am already happy with. As I am working on a portfolio for exhibition purposes, I have had to use my postings on NPN for photos I am not so sure about to get critiques from specialist landscapists. Link to comment

kahkityoong 0 Posted May 9, 2007 You make a good point Christopher Freeman, one I considered at the time and after. Here is a slightly different version taken about a foot back. The left corner is less clipped & there is a greater sense of space. However, the sense of being in the centre of the cascade is lessened. I was at the widest focal length of 16mm in both shots which are uncropped. Link to comment
