barclayphoto 0 Posted May 6, 2007 About 9 months ago I posted a few images of Maynard that I took at a local concert. Many of you were very kind and even suggested I send the images to Maynard. Much to my shock about 4 days after the post I learned that Maynard has passed away. I went ahead and sent the images to his family and his agency none the less. Now this particular image has been chosen to be on his last album cover. The album was released just this week and I am so proud and honored to be part of his last project. He had just finished recording the album 3 weeks before his death. In addition, I am selling limited edition prints from my web site and donating money from each print to the Maynard Ferguson Scholarship Fund. The image posted here is what is for sale. I'm not interested in ratings for this post, however, I did want to say thank you to my friends in this community for your honest and loving feedback with regard to this image. Never did I think it would lead to the cover of my musical hero's last album. Thank you! Long live the boss! Link to comment

bin87 0 Posted September 6, 2007 From the specular diffusion of light on the horn to the expression captured on the face and accompanying accent of his hand - what a beautiful and fitting portraiture of a great artist and his music. No wonder this was picked. It's a fitting tribute. Great, great, great. Link to comment
