bernie moore 6 Posted May 5, 2007 William, Well, I've certainly seen enough of these, but this one is just gorgeous. I like the background color and the way the subject fills the page. Regards, Bernie Link to comment
corkman 0 Posted May 5, 2007 Bernie. Know what you mean by seen enough of 'em. That occurred to me as I shot it. But Spring is all about renewal and like you, at 76 and using photography to keep the mind and spirit young, I said the hell with it. By the way, checked out your portfolio. Love the Curaco shot and would like to have some of whatever the natives there were smoking. Also noticed the Sloppy Joe sign over your head, and the unmistakable resemblance to Papa. My daughter and son-in-law have a resturant in Key West (Michaels) and I'm there often and eat very well. Pep. Caught your Viniendo photo, a beautifully conceived work of art. Congratulations. keith pena 0 Posted May 5, 2007 Greetings Williams Evans! Excellant detail showing sharp focus and good choice of DOF. Would like to see this one in B&W also, concentrating on the lighting and contrast on the flowers detail & texture. Very well done and thanks for sharing. Link to comment
corkman 0 Posted May 7, 2007 Tried your suggestion of a B&W version Keith but didn't achieve results that worked for me. It's a very tricky conversion beyond my photoshop skills I'm afraid. Andi, ditto for your orchid shot. Well done. Link to comment
keith pena 0 Posted May 11, 2007 Greetings William. I played with a B&W version...hope you don't mind. Thanks. Link to comment
corkman 0 Posted May 12, 2007 Your conversion is incredible! You've made black & white an art form that I find pretty amazing. My futile attempts were so far off from what you did. I'm not going to ask your secrets but I would like to know what software you use. I tried it with Photoshop PS using Channel Mixture monochrome, then tried Nikon's Capture and a few of the nik conversion filters, but as I said, never came to close to what you did. Thanks for opening my eyes to possibilities that, to be honest, I had serious doubts about. Link to comment
