switchedcraigmageephotogra 0 Posted May 21, 2002 Ben is to damn good on his little bike. this rail was over bar height and had a real short run up. Those two combined would make this normally pretty damn hard, but add the fact that it was raining and the place was soaked, and wet brick paving isnt the grippiest of surfaces, makes this insane. smhickel 0 Posted May 22, 2002 Great timing. Imagine even more so if the bike was two feet lower with silouhette against sky. I love the wide-angle effect. Good tones. Link to comment
alex1 0 Posted May 23, 2002 i think the arrangement of the bistanders underneath the rail is fantastic Link to comment
jwink3101 0 Posted May 27, 2002 love the aesthetics of the photo but I do not think it is all that original. I have seen many fisheyes of extreme sports. My Rating: 7/6 Link to comment
switchedcraigmageephotogra 0 Posted May 29, 2002 I agree it's not overly original but neihters half the stuff on here. I like shooting rail shots like this, from below with a super wide lense. They always appear more dramatic. Link to comment
alex1 0 Posted June 4, 2002 I agree it's not overly original but neihters half the stuff on here. I don't think you're giving yourself enough credit for the framing. I feel that bisecting the picture with the rail, with the rider above and the spectators neatly contained below creates a fantastic sense of seperation between the "those who can", and "those who watch". Sure, i've seen other sports shots taken through ultra-wide lenses, but that doesn't discount the uniqueness of this one. Or perhaps I should give up photography right now because the street photos i shoot on tri-X through my 52mm lens have "been done before". Link to comment
switchedcraigmageephotogra 0 Posted June 5, 2002 sorry Alex but i think you took that a little wrong. What i ment was that sure it's not original but hardly anything else is these days. To me the aesthetics of an image are more important than wether it's original or not. but of course originality would be nice. one thing i think some people need to realise is that originality doesnt always make a great image. the idea behind the current POW (water droplet thingy) is great but i dont think it works to well, i dont like the way it looks, But thats just my opinion. switchedcraigmageephotogra 0 Posted June 25, 2002 thanx jim. Aye those deadly words of photographers, i dont utter them anymore as they bring to much suffering....!!!! just like 'one last time' NEVER NEVER say those words. I wish I had Dig contributions, your confusing me with chris magee i think, i have no idea who he is like. I keep forgetting to send stuff to Will, but Ride are on startin to ask for stuff regular like so i'm pretty happy with that (i have no interest in the polotics between Ride and Dig factions!!!), but maybe sometime i will send some stuff to DIG. Ta again matey and if you find yourself in the liverpool area give us a shout. Link to comment
