I saw this and just laughed.

Pictures like these don't come along everyday. Hopefully your editors will send this one to MSNBC week in pictures.

I came out of the hospital after shooting a portrait of a nurse for our

weekly section when I saw this. This is the sixth frame before they

noticed me. I just think it's a funny "found feature."

Hehe, this is too funny! :) Great! The big kid is wearing a blue shorts and is sitting on a red box. The little guy is wearing a red shirt and he is INSIDE the blue box. Perfect! :)

I just love this photo, and I don't quite know why. Still, I don't find the picture funny. It seems to me that there's more than boredom and restlessness on these kids' faces.

This is just incredible. The scared look at Gina's face makes you wonder Who's inside the red box..

Great picture! I like the tight composition, and the balance is quite uncanny with the red box/blue shorts, etc. What did they do when they noticed youu?

The two started laughing and acting up. But I captured the moment. The girl is in an Aspen Times box and when I introduced myself, she thought I was going to get her trouble. The boy just giggled. Their mom came a few minutes later and had then same reaction: thought the girl was in trouble then giggled. It was funny.

I looked at this photo and I was overwhelmed with a great feeling of sadness. It is disturbing to see children so young already looking so bored with life -- there must be something dreadfully wrong with the way we are raising/teaching our children. This is first-class visual reportage, and biting social commentary as well.

An excellent choice for POW. The subject is very interesting and the composition is very pleasing as well. And obviously, the image is very touching. A well deserved POW. :-)

One of my favourite POWs. The girl seems to know how to make the best of things; the boy looks envious for not having such a comfortable chill-out option.

A really fantastic subject. Real life at its best !!

Was it photographed at best...? Post-production at best...? Maybe not, but it doesn't interfere too much with my pleasure seeing this.

So, what's not optimal ?

This picture is ok technically and has good colors, but not as vibrant colors as I would expect for such a subject.

Another potential criticism would be about the necessity of framing so tight. I'd rather have a little space around... Small things of course, but I think they matter.

Now, wondering about something: since you said you snapped 6 shots, could you do us a favor, for the sake of this discussion, and upload links to the other shots in this series that would be worth showing. Typically, imo, this image has a lot to do with precise timing and expression... as well as composition and angle... A tad to the right and the face would be behind the knee, etc.And would there maybe be any "not-so-tight" version among the 5 ?

It's been a long time I hadn't seen something so unexpected on Photo.net. Why not 10 in originality, some may ask ? Just because the treatment of the subject is nothing out of the ordinary, while the subject most certainly is.

A very enjoyable image. A RARE shot. Regards.

This is certainly funny, at least initially. But, like Victor, I find this quite disturbing, at least after (or in addition to) the initial chuckle.

The expression on the big kid's face would be funny if this were a Rockwell painting. Considering it is a photograph, I find it quite harrowing instead.
