cherlyn 1 Posted April 29, 2007 I like the distant view of the boat, with the anchor placed forefront. Nice B/W. Link to comment

John Peri 1,032 Posted May 1, 2007 Of course I like it, it's beautiful and I could not do as well. I wonder however how it would look with the anchor separated from the boat .. the tones are beautifiul, the perspective too .. Link to comment

shedances 0 Posted November 1, 2008 Your photograph inspired this poem. Abandoned by deborah elaine barrie 2008© She stared Out the kitchen window Down to the beach below As she slowly washed the dishes Her mind was not on her task But on the boat That lay stranded on the shore She felt a kinship with it She too was close to her dreams But not quite within reaching distance Close only counts In horse shoes She heard her father’s laughter And words Echo through her mind She wondered What he would think Of her abandoned dreams The dish in her hand Sparkled The way her eyes once had She looked at the anchor Lying just ahead of the boat Taunting it The way the band on her finger Seared her soul But the tide would come And the boat would sail Again She smiled As she set down the dish She removed her apron And walked to the door Then as she turned To look at her ring Sitting in the windowsill The sparkle Returned to her eyes And she walked away. ken_thalheimer 3,739 Posted May 1, 2009 A very pleasing subject. I find it somewhat awkward as far as the empty space. Possibly cropping to a square format? The vignetting at top works very well Link to comment
