I like the colours and the composition! :)

very nice...I wish there's a bit more clearity on the flowerpot's surface....but very nice composition....

The color contrast is spectacular. Is the red color just paint, or some other dye? This reminds me of some of the beautiful beaches on the island of Crete.

Nice composition and interesting colour and texture on the urn. The colour of the beach behind is very odd (blue-grey). Is this an effect of the film or scanner or was it really like that?

Mike it was really like that, the stones that made up the beach were medium grey and I think reflecting the sky and sea a bit, but I think the scan maybe added a bit (scan was done by a pretty mediocre D&P facility).

This is a very appealing image. The vase is so...there. I do have a couple of suggestions for improvement: first, I find myself wanting to see the castle or whatever that is partially blocked by the vase, and second, I think that if you oriented yourself a bit lower, it would raise the castle a bit, make more of it visible, and thus make it a "secondary subject" or anchor point. This would IMO strengthen the image as a landscape, more than as a picture of a vase.

love the red on the vase,particularly as its worn off,compliments the texture of the aloes.Would be bettter i think if the castle were obscured and you had concentrated on just the vase.
