neil_lombardi 0 Posted May 20, 2002 The color contrast is spectacular. Is the red color just paint, or some other dye? This reminds me of some of the beautiful beaches on the island of Crete. Neil Link to comment
michael_humberston 0 Posted May 31, 2002 Nice composition and interesting colour and texture on the urn. The colour of the beach behind is very odd (blue-grey). Is this an effect of the film or scanner or was it really like that? Link to comment
wavegirl 0 Posted June 1, 2002 Mike it was really like that, the stones that made up the beach were medium grey and I think reflecting the sky and sea a bit, but I think the scan maybe added a bit (scan was done by a pretty mediocre D&P facility). Link to comment
elaine_roberts1 0 Posted July 5, 2002 This is a very appealing image. The vase is so...there. I do have a couple of suggestions for improvement: first, I find myself wanting to see the castle or whatever that is partially blocked by the vase, and second, I think that if you oriented yourself a bit lower, it would raise the castle a bit, make more of it visible, and thus make it a "secondary subject" or anchor point. This would IMO strengthen the image as a landscape, more than as a picture of a vase. Link to comment

boz 0 Posted July 30, 2002 love the red on the vase, particularly as its worn off, compliments the texture of the aloes.Would be bettter i think if the castle were obscured and you had concentrated on just the vase. Link to comment
