You should check out the picture in Ben Blackstone's portfolio of a real sleeping lion on a ledge. Just a few days ago I had made a comment there and posted a picture (not one that I took though) of this monument. This was my favorite sculpture that I saw in Switzerland during the six months I spent travelling there. I don't think you can capture the real emotion of it in a photo though... it's too bad. Nice shot!

This was great art for the sculptor. As a photograph of great art it looks a little blocked up in the highlights and the deep shadows seem a bit milky. I'm wondering if merely printing it down a bit, not changing the contrast, would help this interesting portrayal of someone elses artwork.

While Jim has made a valid point, I think he is just slightly over the top with those comments. Does he mean that whenever we photograph a building (for instance), we first have find out who the architect/builder was??
