amalsircar 2 Posted April 22, 2007 Known as the Traveller's Tree of Madagascar,the leaves are fan shaped and grows to 7 to 8 metres.One reason often cited for the tree's unusual name is that these two-sided trees supposedly point east/west. But a more likely explanation is that each stem contains four pints of liquid, which could be life-saving for a traveler in the wild.
