anthonyd 0 Posted April 19, 2007 No need to even mention the inspiration. It was obvious because you nailed the look! Credit to both of you for that! I hope you don't mind my edit. There was just NO WAY I could resist! With respect, Anthony Link to comment
claire1 0 Posted April 19, 2007 Hi, I have got a Black & white, however not as nice as this. I don't mind the edit at all, however I didn't know you could do this with other people's photos! How did you get the different tones over the eyes ? All the best Claire Link to comment
anthonyd 0 Posted April 19, 2007 Oh, yes. According to the rules, you are allowed to copy and edit others photos, but for example only. I find it very useful for being clear about what I'm trying to say. I think that as long as you stay respectful most photographers don't seem to mind. Although, I probably do it a bit to often. I used a spot light filter. By it's self, it's too strong. So I kept it low enough as not to blow out her skin tones. Then I did some burning on either side of the spot to darken those areas even more. Then a little dodging in the lit area for a bit more contrast. There is better way to do it using a gradient layer but I couldn't remember exactly how. This way was quick and worked pretty well to use for an example. It was kind of interesting because at first I sharpened her eyes some to help them stand out even more, but when I put the spot on it, it did not look nearly as good. I've always loved that "Hollywood" style and plan on doing a session that way...eventually! So happy I did not offend you! -Anthony Link to comment
