emerson_valley1 0 Posted March 14, 2001 First what I like: The colours. The sun is providing a nice warm light contrasted with the cool water. What I do not like. I do not like the dark horizontal foreground. I do not like the horizon spliting the sky and land dead centre of the frame. Third and lastly I do not like the way that the beach divides the frame in the centre like the horizon. This is a perfect setting to actually follow the "rule of thirds" or at least try to get the forground or beach to drive away at an angle. How much room was there to your left. Could you move that direction to make the beace slant away? The foreground would also not be horizontal in the frame that way. Link to comment
markci 0 Posted March 14, 2001 I agree: it's definitely a stronger shot if you crop off the foreground and some of the sky. And yeah, a sunset beach shot is going to be cliche, but we all take them anyway. Link to comment
ruben 0 Posted March 3, 2002 I like the strong Z-shape in this picture. Therefore I would crop off the upper part of the sky instead, just until where the lower clouds start. Link to comment
