Thanks all for your comments and feedback.

Yue, I don't mind other people taking liberties with my photos to show me a different perspectives, however, I have to say that I do not like your version. It looks distorted and I believe it takes away the integrity of the photo. Again, thanks for your feedback but in my opinion, it just doesn't do it for me.

Hi Will,

Another superb shot! Love the composition and the tones...Is that fog in the back? Very nicely done. The only nitpick I have is that there is a bit of lost space on the right, and a "squarish" crop getting rid of some of that space could work as well.

I think I see where Yue was going with his version. At first, I thought it was just a crop but he did a perspective modification as well. I agree with you, Will, regarding the distortion and I would probably feel a loss of integrity doing the same to one of mine. On the other hand, his version does bring the distal end of the path closer to center and also eliminates a bit of the right side of the frame. While the footprints on Oblivion's path are crucial, the ones on the right are not (in my opinion). Unfortunately, cropping off the right side also removes the little rise in the distance, which I like very much; it accentuates the effect of the foggy atmosphere. Cropping would also remove the slight darkening in the upper right corner, which balances the left corner's tone. It's kind of a conundrum on what to do.

Still, it is a good photograph. I wish you would post more in the Tech Details on how you do you work. Regards.

Thanks Younes, Jason and Walt. I value all your comments.

Walt, nothing really too technical to post other that the normal stuff. I believe it was f/18, ISO100, not too sure on the shutter speed. I shot this on a very foggy morning at a local beach. The Atlantic Ocean is hidden by the thick fog. The white balance was pretty crazy on this shot, with a purple sky and yellowish foreground. Luckily I shot RAW, still the color version was nothing to be impressed with. I converted it to B&W with the channel mixer and did some burning in the sand and lastly gave it a few coats of USM.

Its amazing how some of the simplest photographs can be the best. Great photo, your eye is lead right into the frame, thanks to the good composition.

Will, I know that you responded to Walter but, some of us, me included, like to rate a photo on the difficulty that went into creating it. If you took this during a hurricane, I would rate it differently than a calm and pleasant June morning out on Tybee Island.

Too many of the current generation of photographers rate from the armchair. They don't have a clue what goes into taking a photo. Sometimes, what goes into a photo is more important than a prissy looking, Hollywood Blvd gallery photo.

In that case Dave, I had to climb two high mountains during a blizzard to get to this location. That's when I was attacked by the beach bum bigfoot, hence the big footprints in the sand. I fought him off just in time to capture this shot.

LOL, no seriously, It was an extremely foggy morning at a local beach. There were some street lights behind me illuminating this area. I had to convert this to B&W because of the weird colors the street lights and fog caused.

Well, there you go: version 1 gets a 7/7 and version 2 gets a 5/5, go figure ~ same photo!
