This is probably my favorite in your portfolio. You have captured so much here. It's a very compelling photo both because it establishes a great feel and because of technical aspects. The lighting seems to lead our eyes straight ahead yet envelopes the boat, the composition is great, the perspective creates depth and intrigue. All in all, a really special one. --Fred

Well, this one is my favourite too!:D

I like the movement feeling and the way the character seems to be lost in the middle of nowhere. There's nothing much "happening" here but the photo still has a good story to tell!

He seems to dwell by the sound of the small ripples, the light, the surroundings while rowing quietly. Very inspiring photo, Mike with a dreamy feel to it:-)

I can't be really sure whether this is really my favorite in your portfolio, but I'd at least echo Fred's comment and say it is at least one of my top ten favorites in your portfolio. I like the mix of light and unexpected motion blurr in several places on the water, which make an otherwise quite ordinary subject really stand out in a great way... At the same time, on little question remains on my mind : have the blurr areas been somehow altered in Photoshop or not...? Cheers, and thanks for your comment.

Thanks to all you guys for your input!

Marc, about your query on what I might have 'done' to this image, it's been so long ago I can't remember but my 'gut feeling' is that all I might have done is add a bit of mild sharpening to the rower and the boat. I tried to find the original' shot to view the RAW file, but soon realized that this image might be one of a batch of data that I lost when my computer crashed...and I also did not have a primary backup either (but have not searched a second external hard-drive). A lesson learned the hard way. Which reminds me I need to do another backup soon......
