brooks short 1 Posted May 13, 2002 This shot was for a client who sells pre-sectioned citrus sections for restaurants. They wanted a high-end gourmet food look. Did they get it? Link to comment
new hampshire john 0 Posted May 15, 2002 Yeah -- the props cinch it -- the gold fork, nice plate, etc. But the lighting is just right; it feels like a setting at a window seat for Sunday brunch. great job... how did the client feel, btw? Link to comment
ken_imduaikiat2 0 Posted May 22, 2002 Hmmm... I'm getting hungry already.... very nice work. Link to comment

david_richardson1 0 Posted July 13, 2002 Not sure why some of the ratings are so low. This picture does EXACTLY what it's supposted to to do. Technically perfect - excellent lighting, great background that complements but does not detract from the subject, no detail missed. Not the most artistic shot, but it's not intended to be art. Within the boundaries of commercial photography, I find it quite creative. It's an advertisment, and a good one. Nicely done. Link to comment
catchlight 0 Posted August 10, 2002 The client got more than the "gourmet look", Brooks. Your sunny lighting creates the feeling that this food couldn't possibly have many calories in it. Masterfully done! Link to comment
nelson_leonard_photography 0 Posted August 13, 2002 Very nice shot. Photographically correct. Your client is selling citrus. I would crop out the background just above the fork. Now your selling citrus. The image overall works good as a recipe editorial. The cookie is a bit large, perhaps overwhelming compared to the fruit which is the subject. I like the cookie but should not dominant the image in size. The cookie in the image associates the citrus with the 'Tastes Good' factor. A bit of fresh mint on the left rim of the bowl would be nice to say 'Fresh.' Nelson Link to comment
john_payton2 0 Posted January 2, 2003 Just a suggestion tho-possibly a gobo to reduce light falling on the tablecloth above the flowers to keep the viewer's eye focused on the fruit. Beautiful use of color! Link to comment
vicki_huynh 0 Posted January 31, 2003 Looks absolutely yummy! I think the small area (where the buds are) between the glass and the blooming orchid that extends onto the plate might be a little too bright, though. At least, it appears to be on my monitor. Link to comment
shooting what comes my way 0 Posted March 13, 2007 I think they got it. Great work. the setting is beautiful and inviting, but it is what's on the plate that hits you when the image is first viewed, thats what the client wanted, thats what you gave them, beautiful work. Link to comment
felixphoto 0 Posted March 3, 2013 An exquisite photo, perfectly composed with beautiful setting, colors and clarity. In one word; professionally taken! Link to comment
