hanna_cowpe 0 Posted April 7, 2007 The picture is slightly off square as a result of dodging traffic to stand in the road and grab a shot. I thought I'd leave it that way to add to the rustic look. I also consciously left the strip of pavement because I think it defines the space. Your opinions are appreciated. Link to comment
jim craig 0 Posted April 8, 2007 Hi Hanna, A somewhat different image from you, almost 100 views so far and no comments, so I thought I'd weigh in. I thought the image was heavily weighted on the left by the two vents and the smattering of red paint at the bottom left, but brought nicely into balance with the "216" on the other side. A nice triangle formed by the two top left vents, the red smattering and the 216 and I find my eyes travelling this circuit, completely ignoring the top lighter section of wall. Removing that though meant the bottom cement should go too, as well as that intruding dark sliver on the right. And, like a picture hanging crooked on the wall, the tilt would always bother me. That could be just me though. I'm not usually comfortable with the practice of taking someone elses image, altering it and reposting it, but I took the liberty this time just to demo my opinions. regards, Link to comment
hanna_cowpe 0 Posted April 9, 2007 Jim, thanks for being the first to comment. If I had a nude male leaning against the wall I guess I'd get more response. Your version has a different flavour from mine, but I accept that, even if you did ignore my reasoning {~;I agree about things being crooked, I was just looking for an excuse for my shoddy shooting. I know you're an expert at picture hanging (even if they don't always stay hung. I have another shot of this with two of these windows. I might upload it later to get your comparative response. Thanks for taking time out of your rainy Easter Sunday. Link to comment
jim craig 0 Posted April 9, 2007 I wasn't ignoring your reasoning, I just wasn't buying into it. (: Link to comment
