apergament 0 Posted April 8, 2007 For a couple weeks each year, Washington D.C. becomes a very beautiful city as Cherry Blossoms bloom. For that time, there are thousands of photographers, especialyl near the tidal bason (in the photo) across from the Jefferson Memorial. I was trying to get something a little different. The cherry blossoms where blown out with +3EV flash overexposure. Any and all comments are greatly appreciated. Alex Link to comment
LindaM 2 Posted April 8, 2007 i love the concept here, and i love that your are trying to do something different. i think maybe this needs more flowers to work effectively. the cluster on the left is nice, but the cluster on the right loses form. more contrast in the background might be effective as well. i think this idea is well worth working on more! apergament 0 Posted April 8, 2007 Thanks for your thought-out comment. I agree that a couple more clusters would work well here (unfortunately, we had a cold spell this last week, and the blossoms are all dead, though I suppose they might come out again). I made the background darker to contrast with the blown-out cherry blossoms, but I'll try to add some more contrast in there without lightening it too much. Thanks again for the comment. Alex.
