cchristy 0 Posted April 1, 2007 Resembles a Maxfield Parrish painting. And, in that regard, I like it. but as a photograph i think its oversaturated. This is a personal preference of mine,so take it for that. The composition is ok with the eye going straight to the yellowish mound at the upper right. But then it follows the water right out of the picture. Perhaps if you cut off the bottom st the narrow part where the big rocks are, it might serve to keep the eye in the picture. the photo has a nice sense of depth and invites the viewer into the scene. i hope these comments will be helpful, chris Link to comment
jmconner 0 Posted April 1, 2007 Chris, Thanks for your time. I'll be the first to admit my composition needs work. You are right. The saturation is too much. I'm not sure about the crop you are talking about but I tried cropping the bottom and tried the top also. They should be in the attachment. I think I like cropping the top out better but wonder what you think. Link to comment
znabal 3 Posted April 2, 2007 I think I like your second crop, taking off a bit of sky, best. With regards to saturation, you might want to do the saturation selectively, minimizing any additional saturation on the sunlit distant hillside. At least for me, the hill is what clues my eye into the extra saturation and says "too much". Compositionally, my eye went upstream, into the hills, then back into the details of the rocks in the stream bed mid-frame. jeffl Link to comment
