shadow chaser!

This shadow is the real actual shadow. It is very long due to the angle of the sun on the horizon when the sun set. This was taken in late afternoon, just before sun set. The bumpy ground contributed to produce the deformed shadow as well. This image was not edited except for rescaling it down and a little bit of sharpening.

if the shadow is real i like it very much, if it isn't it's a nice try but to me the shadow doesn't look natural.

The horse has strange legs and a weird looking stomach. Will you xplain???

The shadow is completely real! The landscape is bumpy and since there is no grass all the little bumps and details of the landscape are deforming the shadow. The long shadow is due to the sunset, which produce such long shadow when its about the set on the horizon. This was taken on a hill and this is why the horizon is not perfectly straight, as i was aiming more to make the horse straight than the horizon. The wierd stomack of the horse in the shadow is probably due to a bump over there, or most probably due to the fact that the shadow is totally stretched and the longer the part, the more it appear to be stretched. This image was not edited except for rescaling it down. Original image was 1600 x 1200.

Hard to beleive but true. Take a look at your shadow on the street when the sun is about to set and see how long and deformed it become. Many interesting effect can be created that way :)
