Nice picture in many ways. The skin softening is a little strong, especially where it fogs the shadows around the nose, nostrils, lips, eyebrows, and hairline. The texture of the skin is also a bit diminished by it. Also, the eye/tooth whitening is a bit strong.

The cropping also seems a bit odd, with the top of the head being cut off and the hand being included.

Thanks for the comments. Actually, the teeth and eyes are not

whitened at all. The shot was made in front of Vuosaari Power

Plant in eastern Helsinki yesterday evening, very much

on-location. The skin is softened a bit, but the texture is retained

with HP filter.

The punchline is that the weird, PS like athmosphere

is created by the fact that the shot was made with 300/2.8

on a monopod at 1/40 (way past your comfort zone of getting

shart shots), f2.8 and flash, making the shot "blurry and sharp"

at the same time.
