Korean War Statue Portrait

I wanted to try and give this photo the feeling of an actual

portrait, instead of just a photo of a statue...did I succeed?

Exposure and comp are good, but what would you say is original about this?

Good sharp and well composed photo, and to me the originality is that it is not a very often seen shot. I think you went to the heart of the statue, the soldier and his vulnerability and fear and determination. War is a very intense and terrifying experience and as a Vietnam Vet I appreciate your getting to human side of the soldier

I've taken photos of these statues several times, but never thought of getting that up close and personal. I like it. Thanks for posting.
