peter moonlight 0 Posted March 28, 2007 This needs some foreground to give some idea of scale. Peter. Link to comment
karl.jahr 0 Posted March 28, 2007 If one wants to take a "postcard" picture (nothing negative implied here), then a foreground, possibly with some people in the picture, would be essential. However, for this picture I was more interested in the abstract shape of the rock formation and in the composition of colors than in the scale. As usual, there are different ways to skin a cat. Thanks for your critique. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted April 10, 2007 My first reaction was to the subtle pastel colors surrounded by the earthtones, and it also does feel abstract to me, so I think you've accomplished your goal. Before reading what you said, Karl, I probably would have agreed with Peter on a little foreground, not so much for scale as for depth. I don't think that would make it postcard-like or typical in any way, but it might, as you suggest, make it lose some sense of abstraction. Link to comment
