stuart_whatling 0 Posted July 12, 2001 Excellent - for me this is definitely the best in your folder. The fact that this is my favourite hotel in my favourite city has nothing to do with it! The repetition of forms gives it an almost Escher-like quality and the little touches of blue from the flower vases perfectly offset the red carpets and otherwise monochromatic scheme of the floor tiles and banisters. I particularly like the way you can just see the flowers on the next floor down, creating the expectation that the arrangement continues all the way down. Link to comment
luca_salgarelli 0 Posted August 27, 2001 I took this picture while I was staying at the Grand Hotel for a conference in Sept. 2000. This is one of my first experiments with my (modest) film scanner, so I thought it would be nice to hear from the experts, of course both on the photo itself and on the digitized version. The picture has been only minimally manipulated (auto-levels and minimal unsharp-mask). Any feedback will be appreciated. Thanks. Link to comment

markharrisphotography 0 Posted August 28, 2001 This is a great photo...held my attention for quite some time. The comment about the "Escher-like quality" is spot on. :-) Link to comment
