Merry Christmas

Taken late at night in the light from a single 40 watt bulb, handheld, nudged up against a couch pillow on the floor for support.

Wondering if I should reshoot this one with more light exposing the

underside in front of the trigger guard or if it is ok like this. I

usually shoot available light only, and the one lightbulb didn't

catch everything.

Nicely done. The lighting is very warm and nicely matches the subject but I think a little more DOF using a smaller fstop to capture detail in the checkering would kick things up a notch. If you are intent on getting more detail in the shadows just tweak the highlight/shadow details in photoshop with the following tool...Image>Adjustments>Shadow/Highlights then adjust the slider bars to your preference.

I agree ... and it could bring out the timber grain a little more too. Nice backdrop and as far as the trigger guard goes i think its fine as is, i do like the highlight of the Browning emblem on the bottom of the guard though and think this would be compromised with more lighting. ... Nice immage of a nice 12ga ... i especially like the crop.

Oh, I guess you might want to experiment with a white card on the left of your camera to add a little fill. To me it doesn't need much, just a little to bring out some more details under there.....That is a beautiful piece you have there.......Jim
