jmconner 0 Posted March 27, 2007 I've been told that these cloud formations had ice crystals in them that makes them look this way. I've never heard on it before now, but it was certainly a nice surprise after hiking all day. Link to comment

brian_goodman 0 Posted March 28, 2007 Quite the amazing sky. I would have liked to have seen a better foreground. Something that swept you into the scene... Link to comment
pascalagneray 0 Posted March 28, 2007 Kick butt sky is the name of the place? Unreal! Those clouds are absolutely fantastic and you extracted all of it. I gave it 7/7 because I think it belongs at the top left on the first page. Link to comment
bill_stine 0 Posted March 29, 2007 Beautiful, those are some wild ice crystals or a veil for the Mother Ship. Link to comment
jmconner 0 Posted April 1, 2007 Thanks everyone. I'm glad you liked it. Sometimes you just have to be ready with your camera like this sunset. A friend and I had just finished a day hike up to the top Castle Rock Trail where he slipped in some snow, fell and broke a brand new wide angle lens (still usable tho). He was pretty bummed after that until we drove down the mountain and ran up on this. He pretty much forgot about the lens when we saw this sunset happen. Deb, I agree with you. It's hard to beat nature's way. Thanks, Pascal. Double 7's don't come easy around here. Bill, thanks and tell me where that cool buliding is in your attachment. It looks like Amsterdam. Very nice. Brian, I think you're right. I wanted a little more foreground too and did try. See "New Stuff" folder. Same sunset. Link to comment
