mmmee 0 Posted March 26, 2007 Lovely colors. And I thought I was the only one who found these colors in the water. The colors are from the algae, are they? This photo reminds me of a picture made with pastels on a piece of wallboard that I had hanging in my home for years until I broke it in one of our many moves. The pastels were a bit lighter of course, but much the same color scheme. So, this one is a bit of a treasure, for me. Thanks for sharing. Its interesting how we look at pictures. To me the dark should be at the back, but here you have it reversed and the lighter part is at the back with the leading lines of the old dock taking our eye to the back of the photo to all that delicious soft color. Makes me wish the dock was still there to be used to sit and dream by the lake in the late evening twilight. There you see what your photo has done? Got me thinking about sunsets on the lake and maybe even fishing from that spot. Link to comment
wood 1 Posted March 26, 2007 Thanks for the nice comment. This algae is combined with an underwater plant which accounts for some of the color. I have been back to this spot for the last two years but the colors have not been as vivid. There are indeed fish in this pond and some good-sized ones too. I wish I had my present camera at the time of this shot as this image would improve with better detail. Thanks again. Link to comment
