Emmanuel Enyinwa 0 Posted March 25, 2007 Richard, this picture is very interesting. First, it is a photograph that speaks to the concept of family, and the need for everybody to make certain sacrifices to manage scant resources. The parent, the Christlike figure with the golden halo, stands in the most precarious position closest to the edge. He looks like he just arrived (sorry all the bird enthusiasts, I can't tell if it's a he or she) and there appears to be some tension. Either the little one that seems to have fallen off was perched in the father's spot, or he left to come and greet him happily. On the other hand, father could be saying goodbye and he wants to go along like most toddlers, but he looks like his wings are not that strong. I'm sure you'll agree that the right side of the picture is dark, but next time I suggest you take a lamp and put it on the sill and light the family better. Of course, if you do that, they just might move house. I know I rambled a bit, but my response to this picture is more emotional than cerebral. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted March 25, 2007 Richard, it is a very nice and special catch. looks like a family " conversation" I like the composition very much, especially the "mother" form and color and the BG. Beautifull. Link to comment

jason j 1 Posted March 25, 2007 Great depth of field and way to capture a decisive moment. I am not sure that the mourning dove is feeding the house sparrow. Indeed, I think that the smaller bird may be telling the big bird to wait for his or her turn. Link to comment

blackdogstudio 1 Posted March 30, 2007 My dear friend, this is truely one of your very best. It is one of my favourite of all your bird shots - the composition, narrow depth of field, exquisite bokeh, perfect shutter speed for both frozen and blurred elements, your timing, the intricate details... Really humourous the rebuke the mourning dove appears to be receiving from the house sparrow perched at the centre of the stand. The light rimming out the dove's wing is simply radiant. The slightly blurred wings of the foreground sparrow is jaw-droppingly gorgeous!!! This is a very special work my friend. If this was the only photograph you ever displayed, it will rank you with the greats!!! Congrats Richard. Regards. Link to comment
