poutnik 1 Posted March 24, 2007 A theme explored thousands of times, but as I was walking along theriver, this composition caught my eyes. I like it a lot... What aboutyou? What is your impression? Thanks for your time, Jiri Link to comment
bartimeus1 0 Posted March 24, 2007 Jiri, I agree with you! This moment is like a magical - or hypnotic - moment. The light and forms on the plants and the reflection over the dark water of the lake. This is a very much such image, that "speaks" my kind of photographic dialect. Great! After finding this one, I will have to view your portfolio, if there are more gems like this. :-) With warm greetings,Alpo Link to comment

PeterKrenek 26 Posted March 24, 2007 Hello Jiri, I understand you could not resist taking this picture. Interesting patterns reflected on the mirror-calm water, the two well-positioned bunches of grass contrasting with the dark foreground. A pleasant calming image to look at. I find the foreground a slightly dark, but perhaps it is just my monitor. I would lighten the shadows a bit - except that you had a reason to render them this way. Best wishes. Peter Link to comment
poutnik 1 Posted March 25, 2007 Thanks Peter. Judging BW photos on a computer screen is difficult without proper monitor calibration (and mine is not calibrated precisely), but as I see it (and as I want it), there are subtle rocks below the surface. But I wanted them to be dark, not to disturb the main theme of the tree bright groups of plants. The texture in the foreground is to be visible when you start exploring the rest of the photo, when you have enough of the plants... :-) Hopefully it will be much clear in a print (which is yet to come) Jiri Link to comment
