Rannoch Moor

regis

As I wanted to have a really big file from this scene I decided to take a couple of shots and stitch them together as one (panorama). I took 4 vertical shots (each one of them was bracketed with 1.66 EV to cover the whole tonal range) - so 12 shots altogether. Post-processing was basically a matter of proper stitching plus blending - but trust me, it's not so complicated as it sounds :) There was also CPL in action to cut off some reflecions on the left side of the photo.

This is a very fresh photo of mine, taken just few days ago. I was

so desperated to go for some photo shooting that after some

promising weather forecast I decided to take one day off and

ventured out to the Highlands.

I couldn't be more happy about what I've encountered there. The

weather was nothing but amazing. Lots of sunny spells and dramatic

sky. This is when I feel like I'm alive. I must say is was my first

time to see all those mountains covered completely with snow. It was

just amazing, really cold but visibility was excellent.

As the Rannoch area seems to be heavily explored by all kind of

photo enthusiasts I decided to look for some unusual spot. I went

much further into the moor, leaving noisy A82 far behind me and

eventually found this place. I loved it from the very first time.

I set up my tripod and waited for the proper light and sky

formation :). Hope you'll like it. Please have a look at the larger

version.
