Manual merge of two photos. Camera was held on a tripod as high as possible (tripod held by its feet) to gain height. Shutter tripped by timer.

I like very much this shot. It gives a sense of mistery and peace in the same time.

The wide-angle makes the ring of stones the center of the world. Very nice the light and the colors. This no good weater is good for the result of the photo!

Original! The technique you used works very well. It gives the photo its somewhat surrealistic atmosphere.

A fine shot, Colin, with the misty background adding to the mood and mystery of the overall scene. The soft, natural colours are neatly divided into 1/3 - 2/3 sections, and the eye is drawn as a magnet to the stone circle on account of its central position in the frame and the dark-to-light tones of the grassy mound. An excellent shot. Kind regards, Chris.

P.S. I might have been tempted to try a slightly different crop – taking out an inch or so of sky, and an inch or two of grass, to make it even more 'panoramic'. What do you think?

Still missing new images from you. I know that there are some in the fora but I miss your contributions in the gallery...

As long as you don't publish you perhaps have some time to look at a presentation I made. It's an experiment and I'm curious for your opinion.

By the way... do you happen to know how to announce such a presentation?

Regards,

As an old archaeologist, it's hard for me to separate my scientific appreciation of the picture from the aesthetic, but either way, I like it. Thanks.

Very interesting image of a very interesting place. From the technical perspective, I like how the space distortion of the horizon line stresses the circle of stones.

Very successful shot. Nice tones and atmosphere with the Lake district mountains or hills in the background. More successful than your 4x5 images of the same stone circle, in my mind.

It is difficult to convey feelings in pictorial or landscape photos, but I think you have succeeded here.
