the foxs den 0 Posted March 25, 2007 What advice do people have for shooting animals in zoo's? while it would be great to get up close with these animals in the wild, not everyone can achieve this. i was happy with this shot for capturing the moment, but given more time/better circumstances, i'd try to recompose it...any ideas? this was taken about 1-2 metres from the lion through thick glass/perspex which was in quite bad shape for clarity. clive1 0 Posted March 25, 2007 You might want to check out Gary Winogrand's zoo photos. As he did, you should try to incorporate a human element. Good shot, though. I thought at first it was stuffed! Link to comment
sambal 0 Posted March 25, 2007 Banjo, you need time, time & more time, plus repeated visits to learn the habits of the animals. Then, one day, you might see the perfect image develop before your eyes, push the button & have a nice image - or not, when your subject suddenly decides to move out of the frame or behave otherwise than expected. So, patience is another required ingredient when trying to capture animals. That's my two cents;-) Cheers, Sam. Link to comment
