Woman writing, Kobe-san market fair, Toji Temple, Kyoto, Japan

ptn4egl

This was taken during the Kobe-san market fair at the Toji Temple in Kyoto, Japan. This market only happens once a month. The light was diffused through the incense smoke the Buddists were burning. I tried to get in tight with the 70mm. The light hit her face and hands just so.

Don't really know what to say here. I love this image, the framing and lighting are what really make this image stand out to me. As I was going through the 8 boxes of slides from my week in Japan, this was originally the only image that stood out to me.

I'd like your comments and critiques. I categorized this image under 'street' because it was taken at a booth during a once a month market .

Thanks,
brian

I agree the lighting is lovely and my eye is drawn to hands, face and text. Maybe if the top of the frame was expanded just a bit?
