giggles 0 Posted March 13, 2007 I did a less saturated effect to this and added some brown tones. I also added a little canvas texture. Let me know what you think. I was trying to go for the antique look. Link to comment
pyechout 0 Posted March 13, 2007 I don't really think "antique look" when I see it but I do think " What an excellent portrait and a beautiful subject." nicely done. Link to comment

giggles 0 Posted March 13, 2007 Thanks Paul - I didn't know what to call it, at first I typed old fashion look but changed it. I like the subtle quality of it instead of being bright like the original. Maybe classic is a better term. I appreciate you kind comments - take care. Link to comment
will king 0 Posted March 13, 2007 Emily, this is one of my favorites from your recently. I don't think I have seen a better sepia conversion. This looks classy and timeless. Link to comment
bridgette eshghi 0 Posted March 13, 2007 I think this is one of my all time favorites of yours. I will have to try it. How did you add the brown tones? I must add that the look on his face is priceless also. Link to comment
giggles 0 Posted March 14, 2007 Thanks Will & Bridgette - My thoughts exactly on the timeless portrait, Will. That is style that I really am liking these days. He is just a darling kid so most of his photographs turn out really well. As far as the conversion...I know I desaturated it, played with color balance, adjusted brightness/contrast and did so burning & dodging. I just play around until I find something I am happy with. I also added a little canvas texture just so it wasn't so smooth. Thanks for commenting - I always get excited when I open my workspace and see that someone has commented:) Link to comment
gerfoy3 0 Posted March 14, 2007 This is an AMAZING shot Emily. The lighing and DOF are top class. The PS work excellent and the pose looking just off camera make you realise there is a world beyond him and makes you question, just what is he looking at. Ger.. Link to comment

stevegriffin 0 Posted October 25, 2007 I love this shot and the treatment - I have been experimenting myself - I now have a 'thing' for natural light (have a look). Love the rest of your studio work! Regards Steve Link to comment
joe_faust 0 Posted April 19, 2009 A beautiful portrait - soft lighting and a great subject. Please don't demean him with awkward titles. His "title" should be his name. Joe Faust Link to comment
