graham_byrnes 0 Posted May 8, 2002 I don't think there is a clear distinction between porn and erotica and I'm no prude. However, this is a picture of an anonymous woman offering her genitals for mounting. It isn't subtle. The fact that it is soft-focus and BW, or that her labia are not explicit, are relatively minor modifications to something most people would call porn. Sorry, don't like it. Link to comment
will_perlis 1 Posted May 8, 2002 Or perhaps she lost her contact lens again. IMO this picture is ambiguous enough to be interesting. Link to comment
twmeyer 0 Posted May 8, 2002 the technique is quite nice, but the subject/pose lends itself to pretty narrow interpretation. Art generally allows the viewer to make the meaning of the work personal. With this image, however, almost everyone will have the same interpretation of this, within 2 or three possibilities, and those possibilities can come only one per person (unless you're transexual or a functional hermaphrodite or have multiple personalities and those are pretty small niche' markets). This image forces you to be either the protagonist or the antagonist or you reject the scenario entirely. Therefore, I'd say this is closer to porn (art that serves one purpose) than fine art (art with many layers of meaning). That's my story and I'm stickin' to it... t Link to comment
John Peri 1,035 Posted May 8, 2002 I think this is a tremendous photo. It is explicit, but without being so. One cannot accuse someone just for intent - the pose is suggestive but that is all. In my view, this is an excellent and imaginative piece of work that deserves a high rating. John Link to comment
william_m._carson 0 Posted May 9, 2002 The lighting on the skin is very different and interesting -- This makes the photo in my opinion. Link to comment
rfarrah 0 Posted May 9, 2002 I agree with William. I like the soft glow lighting on her skin. I'm not too impressed with the pose. It is however a great shot of where excrement leaves the body. Ric Link to comment
scott_blair1 0 Posted May 9, 2002 I don't like faceless bodies, but I would categorize this as erotic art rather than porn. Link to comment
nomade 1 Posted May 9, 2002 I agree with William too. It's provocative, it can like you or not, if it's art or not doesn't care me too much. I like the lines of Tom, hmm, interesting point... I would like to here something about the technique... How did you gave "that" metallic look? Link to comment
will_wilson 0 Posted May 11, 2002 One of your most successful photographs. The lines just flow out and off the edge which for me works very well in this particular composition. The soft focus and wonderful skin tone is also great. Great shot. Link to comment
sven1 0 Posted January 2, 2003 ambiguous focusing make this photo great! I like this one, fantastic ! Link to comment
