I think that this subject does have a lot of potential to be interesting, if shot at a little differently. It appears as though you were shooting with a telephoto from a higher vantage point and if that's the case, I think that had the couple been snapped from a steeper angle while they were between the footprint paths, it would improve the composition. As it is, there is too much empty space of clean sand at the top of the frame and the corners are too dark and should be removed. It was good to place the subject off center though, and had they been better framed by the foot prints a little better, the composition would be much improved. Good idea.
