mike_joa 0 Posted May 2, 2002 I am just a begginer and would like some feedback on what I am doing wrong/right. This is one of my pics that I am most satisfied with so I am interested in seeing what more serious photographers think of it. Any feedback/constructive criticism would be appreciated. Thanks. will_smith 0 Posted May 2, 2002 You asked for what you're doing wrong... Your hairless cat seems to have lots of hair! Sorry, I've never seen one up close, so it struck me as odd. As for the picture itself, I'd offer a few tweaks with the benefit of hindsight. The two things I'd play with are background and lighting. The vertical lines in the background in strong black and white are a little distracting. Photoshop or a bed sheet draped behind the cat could help this. This would also give you more freedom with framing the cat, as moving back or sideways wouldn't reveal more distractions. As for lighting, I find the deep shadow on the left eye (our left, the cat's right) a little odd. A reflector (or if you're just playing around like me, a sheet of white paper or aluminium foil) could throw enough light under the lid to give a little shadow detail. Link to comment
