Focusing these kinds of shots is always tricky. You managed to keep your main subject in excellent sharp focus despite a shallow depth of field. Colours are very vibrant. Nice composition. 6/6.

Thanks Thomas. I agree with you, focus was very difficult and it seems my 100mm macro was particularly slow with locking focus.

Amazing coloration on this bird, I've never seen one like this. The starlings in my area are brownish/blackish, very monochromatic. Nice capture.

Thanks John, this one is not indigenuous to Vancouver, I had to shoot this guy inside a conservatory. Our starlings here only look good when the sun hits their features just right.
